EXCURSIONS BY SEA
Overlooking the harbor at Hydra

The island of Spetses can be seen by taking the KTEL bus to Costa and going over on the ferry. Spetses was home to Laskarina Bouboulina who fought the Turks in the War of Independence and her house has been made into an excellent museum. A walk around to the old harbour / lighthouse (about 1 1/2km) to see the metal sculptures is also worthwhile.

The island of Hydra can be visited by hydrofoil and offers spectacular views over the harbour, a wide range of cosmopolitan boutiques and donkey rides (the main form of transport on this island with no cars allowed).

Small motorboat rental is also available so you can explore the local coastline.
